As individuals are faced with economic problems, i.e. unemployment, they turn to the development of a small enterprise in order to survive. Now, the question remains: How could these enterprises be supported in order to maximize their benefit? ( Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
As individuals are faced with economic problems, they turn to the development of a small enterprise in order to survive. Subsequently, these small enterprises are capable of achieving great results with the potential to grow into large entities. Thus, it has been proven that small enterprises challenge unemployment, whilst raise the benefit of the competitiveness of Egyptian product. The Social Fund for Development assists in supporting entrepreneurs through the granting of loans, whilst the state provides services for initial planning and feasibility studies, through to finance and training. In addition, there are 14 development programs aimed at increasing the number of small enterprises through assistance, knowledge and guidance. Men and women share their success stories with enterprises ranging from Sinai carpets and baked goods to computer maintenance and a small bazaar store. Furthermore, such enterprises allows for real employment opportunities with productive return, thus raising the capacity of untrained workers and creating wider opportunity for individuals to become industrious.
