My name is Nader Riad, and I was born on the fourth of February, 1943 in Damietta. I joined a government school called “Al-Khulafaa Al-Rashedeen”. After that I moved to Egypt with my family, and then I joined “Salah Addin” school, whereupon I got “Thanawaya Amah” certificate in 1960. I joined the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Department at Cairo University. A year later, I traveled to Germany for medical treatment, while I was studying at Cairo University. It was there that I joined the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Qachen University in Germany, where I lived for 6 years. I completed my qualifications at Qachen University for one year, and received another bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. I returned to Cairo University in 1971 to resume my studies. My training was in the fire extinguishers industry. It was for me the start of a private investment project with a German partner, since the Egyptian arena did not have such an industry with international specifications. The fire extinguishers that were available at that time in Egypt were handmade products, which were produced by plumber workshops and metal workers. These practices were far from the commitment to local and international specifications. We started with only three workers, and now, 27 years later, employ 540 workers. And we currently have 170 products available on the market that meet the unified standard accreditations of most European countries and are qualified for being exported to quality-oriented countries.
