The international conference for investment in the Middle East was held in Munchen, Germany on February 11-12, 2005 under the heading “Investment for a Peaceful World”. The conference was held by the Federation of German Industry and was attended by a number of industry experts and authorities, as well as Arab and German businessmen . A senior delegation attended the international conference for investment in the Middle East. It consisted of Dr. Ziad Bahaa Eldin, Chairman of the Investment Authority, Ambassador Gamal Bayoumi, Secretary General of Arab Investors’ Union, Mr. Shafik Gabr, President of the Economic Club, Dr. Nader Riad, Chairman of Research, Development and Technology Transfer Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industry, as well as a large number of chairmen of Egyptian companies. Dr. Nader Riad, as representative of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Chairman of the Egyptian-German Business Council, gave an opening speech which centered round investment as a creator of job opportunities. During the closing session, attended by the Minister of Economy of Bavaria and Chairman of the Federation of German Industries, Dr. Riad spoke about the areas of cooperation between Egypt and Germany emphasizing the culture of developmental programs over the last 100 years.
