In an initiative considered the first of its kind, Dr Ashraf el-Rabie, chairman of the Trade Representation Authority, led a delegation of administrative experts from the Authority on a visit to factories in Gisr Suez. The visit is part of a plan adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry, represented by the Trade Representation Authority, to undertake a series of inspections of industrial companies promising quality and export excellence. Dr Ashraf el-Rabie, chairman of the Trade Representation Authority said the engineering industry had made tremendous strides in development. There is an ambitious plan by the Export Commodities Council to double the volume of Egyptian exports. In a seminar held on the sidelines of the visit, he said the Trade Representation Authority was sparing no effort to help and provide companies with information as part of its philosophy the two commodity sectors in Egypt. For his part, Dr Engineer Nader Riad, chairman of the Bavaria Group that this direction adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry in communicating with industrial companies was a praiseworthy move and an application of new concepts to open horizons in hitherto unknown innovative Egyptian trade standards with the outside world. Several trade ministers delegate were in the team headed by Dr Ashraf Rabie.
