Mrs. Laila Ali Qora submitted a working paper regarding the role of executive bodies in consumer protection. The paper clarified that the role of the executive bodies is not limited to a certain ministry, as everybody is responsible for reform that should prevail in all aspects of life at the same time.(Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
The paper stressed that the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Supply Commodities, should secure maximum levels of consumer protection against commercial fraud. The Ministry of Health has to protect consumers against environmental pollutants. An example of this is the bread displayed on the pavement, which is exposed to dust and flies. Employees of the Ministry of Health should monitor the production of bread and desserts by unlicensed factories, which are not controlled by any executive bodies.
