In the absence of the other, the ego stands impotent and helpless in many things that concern it, especially in the realm of (ophthalmology – dentistry – surgery – obstetrics). The other is of more importance to the ego than the ego itself. Without the other, the ego lacks the components for its survival. The ego should acknowledge the credit of the other as a principal component in the degree of success achieved by it. Such success is no haphazard, but is due to the ego’s acknowledgement of the other’s credit in helping it achieve such success.
