Dr. Nader Riad, board member of the Chamber of Engineering Industries at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, sent a memo to Rashid Mohamed Rashid, Minister of Trade and Industry, on the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations. The law aims to protect consumers from fraud, speculations, and lack of transparency. It also aims to alleviate the burden of high costs on the industry and its consumers. Minister of Trade and Industry, Rashid Mohamed Rashid, received a memo from Dr. Nader Riad, board member of the Chamber of Engineering Industries at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, on the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulation. The law aims to protect consumers from fraud, speculations and lack of transparency. It also aims to alleviate the burden of high costs. In 24 articles, the law tries to organize the relationship between consumers, suppliers of commodities and providers of services. These articles include subjects that refer to market controls and quality standards, mechanisms used for evaluating results. They also discuss in detail the responsibilities of the board members, as well as their role within the industry and the public sector.
