The Education Development Fund (EDF) Board of Directors held its 8th meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif at Mubarak Education City (6th of October City) on Tuesday 12/6/2007. The meeting started with a visit to the exhibition of the EDF Distinguished School contest project. Then, it discussed a number of topics, including the establishment of educational institutions to be approved by the Education Quality Assurance Authority, as well as a project for the establishment of advanced technology colleges. The Education Development Fund (EDF) Board of Directors held its 8th meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif at Mubarak Education City (6th of October City) on Tuesday 12/6/2007. The meeting started with a visit to the exhibition of the EDF Distinguished School contest project. Then, it discussed a number of topics, including the establishment of educational institutions to be approved by the Education Quality Assurance Authority, as well as a project for the establishment of advanced technology colleges. The meeting was attended by ministers of International Cooperation, Finance, Planning, Education, and Higher Education, in addition to Secretary of the Cabinet Ministers, Mohamed Barakat, Dr. Nader Riad, Mohamed Farid Khamis, Dr. Shafiq Gabr; Dr. Magdy Radi, Dr. Abdel-Hamid Shuaira, Dr. Nader Matar, Ahmed al-Sadeq, and Maj. Gen. Abu-Talib Mahmoud. The meeting activities started with a visit by the Prime Minister to the exhibition of the EDF Distinguished School contest project. It also discussed some topics, including the follow-up of the currently implemented projects, such as the establishment of distinguished schools, the Egyptian University for Electronic Learning and advanced colleges. The meeting discussed an overall strategy for the establishment of technological complexes in the first phase (al-Amiriya, 6th of October, and al-Amriya) and the second phase (Beni Suef and Sohag). It also reviewed the operational plan for the establishment of the first integrated educational technological complex in al-Amiriya..
