A Symposium on the Strategic Planning of the Mubarak-Kohl Initiative and the Reform of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training System, was held in Germany on October 1-3, 2004. Egypt was represented by an assortment of prominent Egyptian businessmen among which was Dr. Eng. Nader Riad who emphasized the importance of general education going hand in hand with technical training.

A Symposium on the Strategic Planning of the Mubarak-Kohl Initiative and the Reform of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training System, was held in Lueneburger Heide, Germany on October 1-3, 2004. The purpose of the Symposium was to answer several questions such as: How VET can be organized to deal with large numbers and what are the preconditions for the program as well as the future development of MKI and its link to secondary education. Dr. Eng. Nader Riad emphasized the importance of general education going hand in hand with technical training while injecting the training with the goal of ethics and professionalism. He also stressed the importance of a high standard of quality among the trainers along the lines of the traditional “Osta” in Egypt.
