Egyptian standards are too old and need to be updated so that they can catch up with the international ones. This way, Egyptian products would gain access to global markets, while the local markets would be able to face the invasion of low-quality and cheap foreign commodities. Egyptian standards are too old and need to be updated so that they can be in line with the international ones. This would allow Egyptian products to gain access to the global markets, and would ward off the invasion of low-quality and cheap products from abroad. Yet, this update must be done while heeding the specific conditions of each country (not all countries follow the same standards) and with the contribution of all concerned public bodies. These bodies, on their part, should only buy commodities conforming to Egyptian specifications.
