Egyptian banks do not recognize or deal with small enterprises, thus discouraging investors to put their money in these industries. In this respect, there have been calls on the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt to rescue these enterprises from curtailment and on banks in general to change this unfair behavior. Egyptian banks do not deal with or even recognize small enterprises; they just have to do with large enterprises. Moreover, they treat big company owners much better than small enterprise ones. This is seen as unfair and economically counterproductive by a few businessmen, as enterprises with not enough funds can not attract investments. For this reason, there have been calls on the CBE governor to come to the rescue of small enterprises, seen by some as the backbone of large industries.
