Civil society and non-governmental organizations play an instrumental and pivotal role in the industry of modern states. Foremost among these non-governmental organizations, which a modern state is in need of, is the federation of insurance companies. ( Available in Arabic )
The federation of insurance companies could and should play an effective role in fully developing the Insurance Sector, as it represents the interest of all three parties concerned: society, insured party and insurance company. In Egypt, we could furnish the federation of insurance companies with computerized data on traffic violations and court rulings passed against drivers, which would alleviate the burden off the Traffic Department. Also, the federation could be responsible for issuing licence for operating lifts, cranes, boilers, steamers, sea vessels, river boats and all types of floating boats. All these items are not to be operated or entered into service unless they are technically inspected and found fit to obtain an insurance policy, by virtue of a certificate issued by the federation. In this way, the state sovereignty could attain the discipline of the industrial street, the traffic, as well as safety and security measures.
