In spite of the fact that the penalty of counterfeiting fire extinguishers ranges between imprisonment, confiscation and fine, fraud practitioners and counterfeiters found an opportunity to make huge profits at the expense of the lives of consumers and official factories. The spread of counterfeited fire extinguishers causes enormous losses, hitting about LE1 billion annually as a result of failure to extinguish about 30,000 fires. This leads to draining official plants and increasing risks that face existing investments, especially as fire extinguishers are considered the guard of these investments.
