Today’s main topic among businessmen and industrialists is the competition bill. They say that when enacted, this law should eliminate all forms of monopolistic practices. They also stress the main damage that monopoly can cause to the markets, and the benefits that this law, if effective, would have on the prices and quality of products. Today’s main topic among businessmen and industrialists is the competition bill. They say that when enacted, the law should eliminate all forms of monopoly in the market, and they also stress the main damage that monopolistic practices can cause to the markets. The law should also prevent frauds by dishonest traders, and guarantee standardized specifications for the products circulated in the Egyptian market. This would indeed be another main tool to fight monopoly, and would consequently have good consequences not only on prices, but also on the quality of products.
