With the rise in oil prices and the continuous depletion in oil reserves, there has become an increase demand for an alternate energy source. Participants in the Clean, Renewable Energy Conference discussed their opinions and solutions in regards to this matter. All of which are aware that we must begin an action plan now, so as to minimize the effects of a negative outcome. Whilst discussion are underway our environment continues to suffer; erosion to the North Pole icebergs. Solar energy, wind power energy and nuclear energy are all alternate sources of energy that are currently thoroughly being researched. However, the alternate energy source must be cost efficient and not at the expense of another nation. In addition, water sources must be taken into consideration to prevent the threat of a drought, as the production of organic fuel requires 1,000-4,000 liters of water; 80% of irrigation water worldwide. There have been further calls for taking a unified Arab stance to preserve food security, as some countries have adopted the idea of organic fuel, which is produced from farm crops; human food. Therefore, it is a necessity that we join the countries who are actively engaged in renewable energy, so as to preserve out natural resources for future generations.
