Dr. Nader Riad participated as chairman of CEEBA in the Mediterranean Finance Week – Barcelona that was taking place in Barcelona from 5 to 8 November 2006.
During these days, the financial sector played a major role in the Mediterranean capital, bringing together the main financial and banking firms, insurance companies and mediators, brokers and investors in the first International Mediterranean Capital Investment Forum and the II Mediterranean Insurance Conference. Dr. Riad focused in his speech entitled “ Modernization of south Mediterranean Financial Markets” on the role of the banking in the Meda Region, development of a Solid Financial System, infrastructure in the past 10 years. He also referred to the Industrial Cities, privatization, the rate of the Financial Development, the problems that the region faces and the prescription to success . Finally, Dr. Riad expressed that the government and private sector must work hand in hand on Liberalization, Deregulation, Transparency and Partnership.
