This article discusses the implementation of the national industry modernization program and its affects on Egyptian industries. The importance of building a competitive edge for the industry, protecting it from the dumping of foreign products, and invading the export markets has come to the forefront. These three elements are the main reasons for the national industry’s resistance to the invasion of foreign products and reproducing new developments on the international arena. This article discusses the implementation of the national industry modernization program and its affects on Egyptian industries. The importance of building a competitive edge for the industry, protecting it from the dumping of foreign products, and invading the export markets has come to the forefront. These three elements are the main reasons for the national industry’s resistance to the invasion of foreign products and reproducing new developments on the international arena. The “Industry of Technology” starts from this issue, a series of feature stories about the system of modernization while addressing the standard specifications for engineering and technical education and human resources. When promoting Egyptian standard specifications, it is necessary to pay attention to the environmental conditions at the potential export markets. For example, the ISO specifications of products is not enough to open import doors before the European and American countries that adhere to their national specifications and do not observe the ISO specifications of products in their imports. In order to have the standard specifications perform their role as an exigent tool to develop the Egyptian industry and as a factor determining the means to protect them from foreign dumping. This is in addition to rendering them fit for dealing with the export markets, the committees that are assigned to set the standard of specifications should be provided with the scientific and practical expertise.
