On the Anniversary of the German unification in 1989, I ask myself why I feel like celebrating this historical event..!. Why would an Egyptian partake in these exclusively German celebrations ? . The reason is simple .. I am an Egyptian who has managed to own and run a successful business in Germany .
Germany is not acting independently as an individual country, but is acting as a member or the European Union , hence its concepts and applications should extend beyond limited political boundaries of the country. In the first part of 2007 Germany will become the president of the European Union and the G8. Nevertheless, one should not forget the effective German contribution to the economic achievements of the European Union. Thanks to Germany, the Euro zone is achieving a high rate of economic growth that outperforms USA, Britain, and Japan. The secret behind all this is the devotion of the German citizen to work and production. “ Arbeit gut geleistet “ or “Work well done” is the first greeting of one German to another. This is the factor behind the miracle of transforming the post-war ruins of Germany, into the strongest and most developed country in Europe. To me, Germany is an ideal example to follow. Considering the historical and cultural ties that have been sustained between the two countries all through “ good times and bad times “for many centuries, I still hope for stronger and more comprehensive cooperation and exerted efforts with the scope of fulfilling greater benefits to the two great countries and their peoples .
