Dr Magdi Radi, spokesperson for the Ministers Council said that the developments in the special schools project were discussed during the meeting of the Council’s Education Development Fund. Test study will start next year in five schools in Port Said, Menya, Qena, Oboor and 6th of October. There will be a special school in each governorate which will accept students according to certain conditions. Radi said the meeting also discussed qualifying university faculties for accreditation and quality. Some faculties were chosen as samples including of Cairo University medicine faculties of science and political sciences, Assiut University faculties of science and engineering, Port Said University faculty of medicine and Ain Shams Faculty of Nursing. Steps for establishing the Japanese university in Borg al-Arab were discussed during the meeting. Egypt agreed to establishing this university during the meeting of the Japanese Prime Minster to Egypt. The first stage of the project will be finished in five years. Study will start with 700 students to reach 3000 through gradual expansion in ten years. The university embraces fields like communication and information technology and engineering. Dr Ahmed Nazif spearheaded the Education Development Fund meeting attended by the minister of international cooperation, economic development, communications, education, higher education and the fund experts. Eng Dr Nader Riad, member of the Education Development Fund, attended the meeting which reviewed developments in the establishment of the special school project. Study at the Egyptian University for electronic education will start next year which include information technology and business administration.
