Many businessmen and industry experts have raised the question about the future of joint foreign investments in Egypt during various areas of economic activities, especially in the field of industry, given the repercussions of the war in Iraq. According to Dr. Nader Riad, it is expected that the industry would be encouraged to export in order to benefit from the relative increase in the value of foreign currency and to save part of the imported goods it needs. It also expected that the banking system would free the value of interest on dollar deposits, compared to international interest rate values, which should attract dollar deposits in Egyptian banks without falling into the phenomenon of dollarism. Especially that interest on the Egyptian Pound is still an attracting factor. The Central Bank is also expected to play a balancing role by intervening as a seller and buyer of foreign currency within the suitable limits to implement its policy.
