Dr. Nader Riad stresses the importance of setting an expiry date for fire extinguishers. He says this piece of information helps protect consumers, as they can avoid using this kind of equipment when it is no longer safe. When it comes to fire extinguishers, some producers in Egypt have started setting their expiration date within ten years as from production. This is in line with international standards and regulations. At the same time, setting such a date means that periodical maintenance and inspections should be carried out to make sure this deadline is actually abided by.
