There is a poor demand for Egyptian workers abroad. The main reason is their lack of training. In this regard, Egypt could follow the examples of countries like Germany, bearing in mind that training in several foreign countries is a fundamental prerequisite before people may work. Egyptian workers are less trained than their foreign colleagues and this is the main reason why there is a poor demand for Egyptian labor force abroad. Yet, chances may be there in the future, as Europe may need more labor force in the next few years. Intensive training is needed, though, and trade unions – as well as the State – should play a certain role in this regard. An example is Germany, thanks to its early retirement and training programs under Chancellor Schroeder, bearing in mind that in several foreign countries training is a fundamental prerequisite before people may work.
