A once profound railway line has now been left to deteriorate through the negligence of relative authorities. The decreased efficiency of our railway has negatively affected development, thus restricting Egypt’s geographical extensions. Whilst many ideas of vast development have been put forward, the absence of an efficient railway service inhibits the ability to turn these ideas into a reality. The railway itself must be modernized first. ( Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
As the railway continues to deteriorate, many relevant officials are discussing plans to modernize such an efficient transportation mechanism. The decreased efficiency of our railway has already restricted Egypt’s geographical extensions, therefore action must be taken. Many advantages emerge from such a development: Egypt would be geographically linked and thus providing services to urban areas, enhanced means of communication, considerable profit is to be made and establishing an efficient means of transportation for civilians and goods. In addition, if the railway was to be extended, new communities can be established thus solving the problem of over populated areas. It is necessary to link the plan of modernization with achieving additional resources, such as the following: providing container and refrigerated transport, providing clearance services for exported and imported goods, establishing three-star hotels inside railways property, setting up a company to provide taxi services, setting up a railway banking mechanism and a secure insurance plan, and the addition of an express mailing service.
