The Chamber of Engineering Industries requested an additional two weeks to compile a report that demonstrates its stance on the partnership agreement with the EU. It will also include the methods used to discover the national origin of engineering products.(Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
The issue of free trade is no longer a debate in the framework of the agreement with the EU as Egypt currently has an ongoing free trade program implemented and Egypt is a member of the COMESA trading Union of Africa. Seeking a free trade deal with the EU with a partnership agreement should bring positive yields for the Egyptian economy. The challenge of the partnership agreement is implementing a judgment for the rules of origin. All suggestions and new demands should be based on accurate and organized scientific studies. Signing the agreement necessitates updating and unifying specifications, testing, adding tools and modern technology when tackling industrial production.
