Produces and merchants of fire extinguishers and industrial security equipment have stated that the current spread of tainted fire extinguishers in the market is exposing owners of industrial and commercial buildings to enormous economic losses, in addition to being dangerous to users. The proliferation of altered products was due mainly to the mounting number of exotic producers who have no experience in fire extinguishing techniques. Another reason has been the emergence of a considerable number of underground plants that tend to refill second-hand extinguishers with impure powders known for its bad quality and low price, for the purpose of making personal profit, producers added.(Available in Arabic – German in PDF )

Dr. Riad stressed that Egypt is on the doorstep of an industrial revolution that lays special importance on quality, commitment, and consumer protection. He added that this leaves no space for juggling, which could harm national industries. He also stressed the fact that it would harm local and international competitiveness, especially in an industry like fire extinguishers that has to do with industrial security in every construction.
