Egypt has recently been taking practical steps to protect consumers‘ rights, perhaps influenced by similar moves already taken in Europe. The Egyptian Consumer Production Agency has been working actively to have simple consumers‘ rights respected by rich, influential industrialist and traders.(Available in Arabic- German in PDF )
Egypt has recently been taking practical steps to protect consumers‘ rights, perhaps influenced by similar moves already taken in Europe. An example in this sense comes from Germany, where a legal battle broke out between a famous car company and a consumer who eventually emerged victorious. On that occasion, the German consumer protection authority intervened to help the German car buyer. The same can be said for the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency. In spite of its still young age, it has been working actively to have simple consumers‘ rights respected by rich, influential industrialists and traders. This is why one can say that Egypt is closing the gap with Europe in terms of consumer protection.
