Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hany Helal opened the Institute of Tourism and Hostels, affiliated to the Technology College in Mattareya. Later Dr. Helal held a meeting with Board of Trustees of the Technology College in Mattareya, headed by Dr. Eng. Nader Riad. The meeting was attended also by Head of education sector at the Ministry of Higher Education, Director of the Technology colleges Development Project, Directors of institutes at the college and a number of teaching staff members and officials of the Egyptian Company for International Touristic Projects. Dr. Nader Riad explained that the slogan of „Education for Employment“, which is adopted by the Board and backed by the ministry, has become a reality on the ground. Since the Board of Trustees has established an important principle in its program, by applying „Education for Employment“ in its practical and applied form. Dr. Riad went on saying that the protocol, which was signed in mid-May 2006 between the Board of Trustees and the Egyptian Company for International Touristic Projects, stands as a model for the integration of the specialized education system for employment in others‘ companies or establishment of private small enterprises. Furthermore, the rewarded training for students, along with the academic education, plays a supportive role for the family income at the same time. Dr. Riad pointed out that a mutual cooperation protocol between the Board of Trustees and the Social Fund for Development (SFD) will be signed. Hence, it will maximize the benefit of expertise to support the Division of small enterprises management and operation at Commercial Technical Institute at the College. Dr. Eng. Tharwat Adam, Secretary of Board of Trustees of the Technology College in Mattareya said that there are a number of executive procedures and arrangements for activating and putting into force the Twinship Convention, launched by Dr. Riad. This mutual convention between Optics Institute in Berlin and its counterpart in Mattareya was signed by first names in 2006 in Germany. Dr. Saad Qasim, Director of the Technology colleges Development Project said that Dr. Helal issued his instructions to prepare training programs at the ministry for re-qualifying teachers at Technical institutes as well as to amend their Financial Regulations.
