In this article, Dr. Nader Riad, chairman of the small and medium-sized industries at the Egyptian Federation of Industries, stated the draft law for small industries is an important step towards caring for and developing small projects, and generally lives up to its aspirations. In this article, Dr. Nader Riad, chairman of the small and medium-sized industries at the Egyptian Federation of Industries, stated the draft law for small industries is an important step towards caring for and developing small projects, and generally lives up to its aspirations. Dr. Riad stressed the importance for the independence of small projects in ownership and administration so that the shares of large or private entity’s will not exceed 25 percent in order to ensure the independence of the project. This should take place without denying small projects the impetus it could obtain by virtue of the limited contribution of a larger entity that enjoys relative technological or marketing advantages. In doing so, small industries would become feeding industries that would play a positive role due to the contributions of cooperatives‘.
