Dr. Nader Riad, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in Mataria witnessed the graduation ceremonies of the first class from the Fast Foods Restaurants Section, Tourism and Hotels Institute, Faculty of Engineering and Technology in Mataria. The graduation ceremonies were attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hani Helal, top officials of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Faculty’s teaching staff.(Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
The Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hani Helal said that academic education and practical training are two sides of the same coin. Helal stressed the necessity of expanding the partnership between the Ministry of Higher Education’s institutions and private and business sectors for rehabilitating students and improving their skills to join labor market. Dr. Nader Riad said that the protocol signed in mid-May between the Board of Trustees of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in Mataria and the Egyptian International Tourism Projects (Americana) is a model to be imitated in the specialized education system. The paid training for students along with study represents a supporting factor for family income. Dr. Ibrahim el-Alfy, chairman of the Egyptian International Tourism Projects (Americana), said the protocol grants graduates a permit to practice this job by setting up small projects financed by the Social Fund for Development. Some 93 students succeeded in this program, a rate of 91%. Some 42 students received excellent, 34 very good, 5 good, 3 passable and 9 with very poor marks. Graduates will receive work contracts in Americana. Dr. Hani Helal and Mr. Ibrahim el-Alfy honored a number of officials at the Ministry of Higher Education and Americana, namely; Dr. Nader Riad, Dr. Mohamed Kamel el-Said (chairman of the national committee on technological colleges development project), Dr. Nader Mattar (project manager), the Faculty and Institute’s teaching staff, Mohamed Farouq (secretary of the Future Generation Foundation (FGF) and chairman of CEOs in Americana. They also honored Hesham el-Hageen (Americana deputy chairman), Abdul Hakim Hussein (chairman of Human Resource Sector), Said Ghareeb (training program supervisor), Mohamed Tal’at (chairman of the international chains) and Ahmed el-Shorbagy (operation manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken’s chains).
