Drawing on the expertise of the armed forces, flying services would reduce time wasted in the gridlock on the ground. (Available in Arabic- German in PDF )
Discussions about a possible flying ambulance service culminated in Presidential Decree 68/1999. Meanwhile, a flying taxi scheme, linking cities and industrial zones, would go towards avoiding traffic congestion and enabling investors a fast link to the industrial zones. Helicopters could also be used for fighting fires, and search and rescue operations. Even so, higher priority is placed on an air ambulance service as timing is crucial for saving lives. Armed forces expertise would guarantee efficient, effective and safe air services.
