At an international conference, the speakers agreed that protecting intellectual property rights is fundamental to achieve economic development. An international conference addressed the issue of intellectual property rights. It was attended by speakers from across the globe, and they agreed that protecting such rights is indispensable to achieve economic development, especially for developing countries. They also stressed that growth in the current global economy cannot do without modern ideas and technology, and that swift technological development has radically changed international competition. The Egyptian speakers, for their part, stressed that through this conference, Egypt aimed at benefiting from other countries‘ experiences in protecting intellectual rights.
