The Consumer Protection Law issued in 2006 is meant to protect the consumer against fraud, deceit, price escalation and lack of transparency in display and quality. The law in phased, meaning that periodic evaluation shall be conducted to allow amendments to the law as well as additions. Its two main areas of focus are: Regulating markets and upholding quality standards as well as establishing an inspection vehicle to examine and document results. ( Available in Arabic )
