El Ahram Journal focused in an investigation about fire accidents series in factories and constructions on what the study that Dr. Nader Riad prepared in the title (Egyptian Industry Regime and Hazard Management) has recommended. This has come in the consequences of the fire catastrophe of Obor furniture factory whose victims reached more than 25 employees and tens of injuries. The study demanded the necessity to provide incentives to factories and companies which apply code regime with the aid of insurance companies, finding an effective mechanism which work side by side along with Egyptian fire code and that relate to behaviors of execution performers and commitment to apply conditions of this code. .(Available in Arabic – German in PDF)
The study emphasized on a number of procedures in needs field which should be met in an application to local and world fire codes, including procedures on the standard of equipment which composes combat in site at the purpose of fire containment in the narrowest field in the first five minutes and providing manual fire extinguishers in a suitable type for fires in which to be approved locally and internationally. The study emphasized the necessity to qualify individuals, training head and members of extinguishing staff and industrial security so that to reach modern training standard as well as training 50% of production employees so that to reach skilled standard in usage of manual devices, The study called for the extension of the role of the federation of insurance companies to cover disabled aspects in service organization for the industrial sector, including confederation of insurance companies having to issue a register in factories whose product applies to approved standardized specifications, having to label and register experts and specialized in the field of insurance of constructions, factories and hotels against fire hazards in which every class performs its duty completely where it ’s able to return to them in all what is related to insurance aspects against fire hazards and in respect of what’s suitable to the hazard type in an application to codes which rule such hazards.
