Dr. Nader Riad talks about the spread of counterfeit fire extinguishers in Egypt. Such fake products are clearly illegal and can seriously harm their users. Action is being taken, by both the authorities and some licensed companies operating in this field, to counter this phenomenon. ( Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
According to Dr. Nader Riad, a prominent Egyptian businessman, 30% of the fire extinguishers on the Egyptian market are counterfeit. Such fake products, which can also carry forged Egyptian or international trademarks, clearly violate the law and can even be lethal for their users. To counter such phenomenon, measures are being taken by the Egyptian authorities. Violators can have their products confiscated and even go to jail. Some licensed factories operating in this field are also taking action in cooperation with the concerned official bodies.
