In this study, Dr. Nader Riad talks about the Egyptian bill on competition protection. After stressing its importance to avoid monopoly in the Egyptian market, he mentions its main principles and pivots before looking into all its provisions. He also suggests a few amendments to improve some of its articles. This law at first defines its main concepts, such as competitors and geographic scope. It then bans specific activities that harm competition, although there are some cases in which this law shall not be applied. It also illustrates the structure and roles of the Agency for the Protection of Competition, the way it shall be financed, and the procedures it shall follow to deal with the people violating these provisions.
