Industrial firefighting in Egyptian factories still has some shortcomings. More efforts are needed in this regard, and the insurance industry should be more involved, too. This article summarizes the advice given by some experts on this issue. According to them, a special budget should be allocated for insurance. Firms should bring in foreign experts in insurance and firefighting and these experts’ plans or recommendations should be included in any insurance policy concluded by these firms. As for insurance policies themselves, they should protect not only the equipment inside a factory, but also the workers. In addition, the Insurance Federation of Egypt and the State must play an effective role in controlling that fire extinguishing devices and alarm systems actually conform to local and international specifications. This would certainly reduce industrial accidents and would prove beneficial for insurance companies at the same time.
