Labib Samir writes about the Arab Federation for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, and the need to establish a system to protect them, thereby fostering their development. He notes that the federation has played an important role in establishing and practically enforcing the rules governing intellectual property in order to locally and regionally serve the Arab interests in the member states. Dr. Ahmed Gewili, secretary general of the CAEU, strongly supported the establishment of a federation to protect intellectual property, and to set up a specialized system for Arab federations. Samir continues to break down the CAEU’s agenda, and their future development plans.
