Dr. Nader Riad says Egypt’s labor laws do not regulate the relation between employers and employees properly. He believes both parties should be allowed to have full information about the other and about the tasks to perform, and talks about how their relation is regulated in Germany. (Available in Arabic – German in PDF )
Dr. Nader Riad says Egypt lacks proper labor laws. Employees are not made aware of their rights concerning the tasks they may or may not perform at their workplace. Likewise, little importance is paid to fixed-term contracts, which are often resorted to by employers, especially by the private sector. He then talks about work relations in Germany and about employers’ and employees’ rights and obligations. He also talks about specialized offices one can resort to in order to offer or look for employs, with the local laws forbidding “stealing” someone else’s workers. In addition, information on employers and employees is fully available, in total transparency.
