Dr. Amr Salama, Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated the annual International Conference on Welding Technology & Allied Processes yesterday, November 29th. It was held by the International Welding Society (IWS) in cooperation with the Central Metallurgical Research & Development Institute (CMRDI). Salama spoke of the importance of welding technology in the petroleum industry, and talked about collaboration with Japan.(Available in Arabic – German in PDF)
Dr. Amr Salama, Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated the annual International Conference on Welding Technology & Allied Processes yesterday, November 29th. It was held by the International Welding Society (IWS) in cooperation with the Central Metallurgical Research & Development Institute (CMRDI). Salama spoke of the importance of welding technology in the petroleum industry, and talked about collaboration with Japan. Mr. Bartel Bakery, Head of IWS and a British expert, chaired the conference which was attended by representatives of 26 states, 13 of whom came from Europe with the rest from Africa, in addition to many Egyptian industrial companies specialized in petroleum, mining, food, engineering, and chemical industries. Dr. Nader Riad, Chairman of People’s Assembly Industry and Energy Committee and board member at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Chamber of Engineering Industries, delivered the opening speech.
