During the last period there were many massive fires that engulfed industrial assets and large installations. Intensive efforts at the public and private levels are required to avoid the recurrence of such incidents. There are several procedures aimed at ensuring that enterprises and companies apply safety procedures accurately and properly. The starting point is the effective application of the Egyptian Code for protection against the danger from fire so that the industry can be more secure in the face of potential and existing dangers from fires. Egypt should draw upon the experience of major industrialized countries. Application of the Egyptian fire code is not a luxury. It is the cornerstone of the requirements of safety and security. The new system includes the following: Preparing a plan for combating fires and evacuation, training 20 % of the factory workers in firefighting to a high level, providing manual extinguishers, supplying factories with appropriate extinguishing systems, selecting a suitable means of extinguishing, plants equipped with water pumps and liquids that produce flammable vapors should be stored.
